Course Objectives

This programme is designed to improve delegates’ awareness of techniques and best practices associated with risk analysis, evaluation and mitigation in the sourcing decisions made by them and their departments. It will equip them with a series of easy to apply risk assessment tools that can be used within a supply chain context.

Day One
 
Definitions of risk
The common causes of risk in supply chains- A workshop approach to identifying common risks
 
Evaluating risk and developing cost effective risk mitigation approaches in the supply chain
The role of standards, specifications forms of contract and terms of contract in risk mitigation
The role of KPI’s and sound contract management in risk management and mitigation
The skills of the effective contract manager
 
Day Two
 
Using a risk register approach to manage risks in procurement decisions
Managing risk in performance
Ensuring compliance with the contract and understanding contractual remedies for poor performance
Effective contract monitoring
 
Creating the right style of relationships with suppliers
Negotiating improvements to current service delivery
Dealing with conflict and dispute
Change control mechanisms
