Supply Solutions brings new strategic standing assessment tools to market

Supply Solutions has developed a ground breaking tool kit designed around their unique model of procurement aimed at assessing the strategic standing and development of Corporate procurement functions.

"We have been distilling our knowledge of what makes for great procurement functions into an easy to apply in-depth toolkit that provides meaningful intelligence for large corporations in their development of their functions to world class excellence"  Mike Woods announced at the recent e-procurement conference at Earls Court in London.

The tool comprises a series of self and third party on line evaluations tests and self completed surveys that assess the readiness and capability of the function to create appropriate SCM value for the Organisation
There are two key assessment areas

  2. The enabling Infrastructure in which they work and consisting of;
  • Management culture
  • Processes and procedures
  • Systems
  • Organisational structure

“Our assessment is built around a philosophy that our people are the value creators in the SCM cycle and that their ability to contribute is a function of their own talents and the level of alignment of the enabling infrastructure of Procurement to drive (or constrain) their ability to deliver outstanding performance and achieve functional objectives”

Mike went on to say "Unlike other tools this is NOT a subjective assessment of procurement operations, rather it uses clear objective measures of performance in all these areas - the Client completes a number of online tests of the personal capability of a representative sample of their people in both technical and soft skills. We then use a number of measures to establish the level of compliance within the organisation to procurement process and procedure and systems use throughout every stage of the procurement cycle. There is a self assessed review of management style and culture. Our experts review the appropriateness of  all these elements to the business context and objective and produce a health check of key aspects of performance identifying areas of weakness and strength and recommending courses of action for the client to consider.”
